Air Bags
Air Bags
I was planning to buy an F-350 till I saw the new Dodge body style, and have decided to wait and save money before purchasing a new Ram 3500 in the new bodystyle in 2003-2004.
Looking for air bags for my '91 F-150 that attach between the axle and the frame--NOT between the springs and frame. I have overloads on the truck already and don't want to lose them, and have been told that air bags that attach as mentioned are available (I just can't find any!!)
Help, please.
Thanks,
-Mike

I've never seen airbags that don't go inside the springs. You shouldn't have mentioned your saving for a Dodge, people won't be as willing to help! Seriously though, good luck with your new truck. Maybe i can pull it out of the mud for you sometime

Ha! Well, Ford is making a mistake getting rid of the 7.3L diesel, and I am of the opinion that the proven 5.9 liter inline six--in Dodge's attractive new body style--will be the better choice for me.. I'll give Ford a chance to prove me wrong, but at least I'm not slaving away trying to save for a '02 PowerStroke and can rest easy for a couple years knowing that Dodge has a truck that I'll like. Very uneasy about ANY new engine--particularly the smaller high-revving diesels Chevy and Ford are coming out with.
Anyhow, as far as the air bags are concerned... still looking for input! I'll be a Ford driver for at least a couple more years.
Thanks!

Hey Mike. I did some looking on the Internet and found a couple of sites interesting for the Air bag Suspension.http://www.airliftcompany.com/ . If I did that right, that site has some kits that still allows your use of the overloads. This other site had some pretty wicked stuff for trucks. If I find something else I'll pass it along. Hope you find something. http://www.ridetech.com/toc.htm . Another site, although it looks like you have to contact them for applications.http://www.scientificbrake.com/truck.../neway.htm#CBL
