Bad Fuel Pump?

I have a 93 F150 XL 4.9L truck. It has the mid-ship tank. When I flip the tank switch to that tank, the gauge reads empty and the truck sputters and dies. I know the tank is full, could it be the pump? I figured if the pump was bad the float gauge would still read proper. I don't want to pull the tank if I can look elsewhere first.

Thanks,

Justin

fuel

I would check the relays and the switch power to that pump.
I don't think it's the pump if the gauge reads empty.Check grounds etc. Is this tank that you are having the problem with the main tank??There is an inertia switch located at the right kick panel by the ECM, but I would think it would shut both pumps off
if it was tripped.

I had the tank switch go bad in a 1990 I had but it wouldn't off either tank. Might be worth a check.
