That is a stock ford differential like comes factory in many trucks. I would start searching junk yards for a used one. I bought one out of a 94 Explorer and put in my 92 F150 and it only cost $75. (and it only had 45,000 miles on it). All 5.0 mustangs from 86 and up had 8.8 rear ends with that type of limited slip. I dont know if the carriers are the same, but I know there are plenty of those around.

When it comes to diff parts,i would spring for brand new stuff,ie bearings, shims, gears, and lockers-L/S.
It will be worth it in the long run.

Try looking into Power-lok diff............it's more of a off-road L/S,but hear it's the toughest out there.

i feel the same way, i like having new parts. is the power-lok fully streetable? i want something streetable because my truck is in the street 80% of the time and i take corners like i was at the last turn of the indy 500 , so i dont want to have problems with fishtailing and things like that around fast corners. ive also been hearing a lot about the powertrax differentials, locker power but fully streetable. anyone heard anything about these?

Power-lok is a good product,keep in mind it's still a L/S not a locker......so u wont have any problems with turning.
About the Power trax,i'm not too sure but i've heard their pretty good.
