Light throttle sputter

I have a 1994 f150 5.8 4x4. So when I start driving my truck and give it very little throttle it like cuts out then starts going. And it also has a hard time trying to rev to higher rpm’s. Not sure if they just rev slow but when you mash the throttle it does the little sputter thing and then slowly revs and feels like you kind of have to hold it for a long time to get past 3k rpm. Not sure if these issues have something to do with each other or what. I wanted to ask someone if they had the same issue before I start throwing parts at it trying to figure out what’s wrong

Sounds like a clogged cat. Check the OBD for codes.

3 digit codes:

I'd still check, nothing to lose.
