tranny question

i have the factory 5 speed manual in my truck right now. anyone know how much torque this tranny can handle? im asking because im planning on doing some serious engine mods as soon as i can afford another car and this truck will be my little project. im thinkiong of putting in new aluminum heads, intake manifold, bigger TB, forged pistons and top it all off with a supercharger. will this setup kill my tranny? thanks for the help!

It all depends on how you drive it. The 5-speeds in the F-150's are pretty tough, but they're designed for transferring torque, not speed. Don't dump the clutch all the time and you'll probably be fine.

Take care
