I have pretty much turned this (94 fi50 4.9 4wd single cab) truck into a firewood truck used in the mountains on logging roads. I think the clocking thing went out and decided the steering wheel is too close and not want it to go off anyways. I had that annoying beeping so I unplugged the power line under the steering wheel and also disconnected the box under the heater controls. Does this entirely disable the system? of course if I sell it I will either fix it or disclose what I have done.

Yeah, that should disable it.

 

Yup, power to the controller will deactivate the system. I have a bad clock spring, and finally the bulb burned out on my 94 with the beeping on a road trip. I'll fix it someday.
