I know that many of you guys know what I am talking about when I say that I am a little sick of my OEM headlights having that weak yellowed look to them. I would like to put the bright white, blue, or purple lights in, but have heard that some of them make it hard to see in rain and snow, is this true? Another thing I was wondering about is which brand to go with if I do chose to get a set of new bulbs, what is the best in your opinions? Thanks to anyone that help me out!

 

Avoid colored headlights. The "blue" ones that come factory in the high end imports seem blue as an aftereffect. The blue lights you would buy to install in your truck are designed to look blue. They are a very poor copy of the high end bulbs. Blue light has the shortest wavelength, which means it's the most difficult to see and see by. Bottom line, they suck. Try to tell that to some fool who spent $50 on a set trying to look "cool", and they'll lie to you until they are blue in the face. Halogen bulbs don't "yellow" like incandescent bulbs do, which is why they seem to be so much brighter. They aren't really much brighter when compared to a new set of incandescents, but incandescents start to "yellow" from the very first second they are turned on, whereas halogens don't.

Hmm if it was me I would stay away from all colored bulbs all together. Most are illegal anyways.

Yellow and White are the only DOT approved colors..

People buy colored bulbs all the time. I do warn them that they are illegal and probebly will get them pulled over. But most just dont care.

Either get a HID system. My next upgrade.. when i have the money. Or just get a good pair of Eaglite Xenon Superwhite bulbs.

 

I thought the blue headlights were mercury, not halogen?
