My moto van started acting up the other day with random down shifts and not upshifting when it should and over revving until I let off and let it coast for a few seconds then it'll slam up into 3rd. If I manually shift through the gears it works a lot better and once I'm on the freeway cruising 60 plus it's fine I can step down and it'll kick out of OD like it's supposed to. I dropped the pan today expecting a lot worse but there's definitely some chunks in there. I think the black chunks are silicone from the pan gasket being reused by the PO... Could it be the shift solenoid or am I going to be looking into a manual tranny swap... This is why I never owned automatics... There's no CEL but I've never see it light since I've owned it so there is a chance the bulb is blown.
