Valve cover breather location

Knowing that hot air isn't the best for performance, I was thinking of routing it outside the airbox, and putting a different filter on it. Has anybody done this?

Thanks for any info!

In theory, air is supposed to enter the engine crankcase through that breather, which means the hose is pulling filtered air from the airbox into the engine, completing the closed PCV system. In other words, unless your engine has excessive blow-by, there shouldn't be any warm air entering the airbox from the valve cover breather. You can still move it if you like, but make sure it's filtered! You wouldn't want unfiltered air (dirt) going straight into crankcase (engine oil)! Don't forget to plug up the opening that moving the hose will leave in the airbox.

Take care
