Cool Dizzy 1996 f150 4.9 liter

took out old distributer and noticed below the gear there a straight allen wrench /key way that i dont have on new one i took little roll pin but that didn't let it go any advice ?

I'm not sure what you're saying. There is an allen wrench type hole in the very bottom of the distributor that I think drives the oil pump, If your new distributor doesn't have this it won't work. You will probably need some kind of puller to get that drive gear off that the roll pin was holding on. When you put that gear back on the hole that the roll pin goes in MAY be slightly offset so the gear MIGHT only go on one way.

Again I'm not quite sure what you're saying. And yes I read your latest posts up above in the V6 engines part.

Yes that is the one that info greatly thankful I am for it just didn't want to mess it up, I promise you will be able to take training wheels off soon enough.Happy Easter.

You should use a puller to get the gear off (after removing the split pin). Hardest thing about the job is getting the gear back on AND lined up with the hole in the shaft for the split pin to go back in.
