Is it worth it?

I have a 1995 F150. The truck has always done what i have asked it even more then it should have. It has a 302 with around 125000 miles on it. The truck body and every thing else is good. The engine is the only problem it has a vaccum leak somewere and the lifters are shot. To repair it will cost around 2,000 bucks. I am looking for a New 302 For it but have had no luck I want to give this truck to my son he loves the truck but i don't know if i should just sell it and buy him a new one like a 97 or 98 F150. Well what do you guys think is it worth it or should i just buy a new truck or just a new engine????????????????????????

Cool

Have you check the local junk yards to see if you can pick up another 302 for the truck ?? Even if it doesn't have everything, you can take stuff off of yours.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'

Just remember -$2000 is only about 4 new truck payments out of 48 to 60 that you will have to make

Buy him a new one.

Donate your truck to someone who already has a '95 4x4 with a 302 so they will have it for spare parts.

By the way, I just happen to own a '95 4x4 with a 302...

Not sure if any of them have web sites, but there are loads of 5.0 prices in the Muscle Mustang and Fast Ford magazines. You can get everything from short blocks to the aluminum head GT 40 engines rated at 345 HP! These are all Ford engines.

You may want to check if there are any Ford Racing distributors in your area. They can order just about anything.

I'll see if I can dig up any web sites.

Why don't you pull a 302 out of a 86-94 mustang? It'll have pretty good hp already, and there's got to be a million of them out there. I could go through the used parts ads here and find 20 of them, easily. Kids are racking up their mustangs every day!

Sounds like too good of a truck to get rid of because the motor is shot.......
