Talking All Done !!!

I went to have an oil change yesterday and I got the two rear shocks replaced. Put my T/A's back on just the rear end. While I had it up on a floor jack, I had a mechanic listen as I slowly sped up to around 60 kmph for any noise coming from the rear end. So out for a short cruise and yeap, the vibration was still there so I had a salesman that I know come with me for a ride. He was the one who figured out my driveshaft vibration about 2 years ago. He said that it was so slight that we may be chasing this until I have changed everything in the entire truck. He even took me out in a new F150 Supercrew 4x4 and a F250 Superduty 4x2 supercab, shortbox and they were almost identical in feeling as my truck was. He told me out of all of older trucks he has been in, my truck is one of the best riding trucks. He said that he has known me way too long to continue to take my money on something that we may never find. SO, I am all done on my pursuit of this slight vibration. I do still have a bad tire and I might even buy a 15" wheel to put it on for a spare tire. If I had a rear flat while running the T/A's I would have to put the spare on the front and then take that tire and put it on the back where the flat is. Reason for this is because the T/A's are 1 inch shorter than my LTX's are. That wouldn't be good for the differential or the Limited Slip.

I would like to thank everyone for all of their help especially PKRWUD as he has followed me all over the board in various sections. I only hope that I can return the favour sometime.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'
Dean

Vibration on the old F150

Allot of people have this problem...

Big vibrations during shifting.....
I heard a bunch of reasons they THINK might cause it....well.

Simple....check your hanger bearing FIRST.
No reason to get your drive-shaft pulled and balanced or check your wheel bearings for nothing.

The hanger bearing is only about $50 and easy to change....saves you allot of headaches.

If THAT don`t fix your shifting vibrations,I would be very surprised.

Does not matter...

Like me someone else might see it and have the same problem and come across it looking for an answer.
If not....did not cost nothing.. ;-)

I had a vibration with mine, found several things .. Tires were balanced ,but had gone egg shaped , gave a vibration at hwy speeds .tires only had about 3000 miles on them..
the other thing was the bushing at the tail shaft of the trans, was worn alowing the drive shaft to vibrate as well . new tires got rid of most of it . but the trans bushing never got done before I sold the truck and gave the problem away
