Question Starts on first try, stalls and cranks but won't restart

Help.. ? My 1992 F150 Flareside 5.0 EFI starts after long timeout. (overnight). Once running, it runs rough and often stalls out when I put it in gear. Once it stalls out, it will crank rapidly but not start. (I did get it to start one time by holding the pedal down to the floorboard but it died shortly thereafter.) Ran fine before the "shop" did a "tune up". New Plugs, Plug wires, ignition coil. Fuel pump runs for a short while when I turn on the key. I have dual fuel tanks and have the same results when I switch tanks. Any ideas for where I should go next?

^^^ Ideas? Yep.

Take it back to that "shop", and tell 'em to fix it - on their dime.

You need to ensure they used the correct Motorcraft-only parts fer that "tune-up", or expect to have issues.

good luck

If it starts at all that means you have spark and fuel. It sounds to me like you are having fuel regulation issues. when you turn your key to on you can hear the fuel pump prime; thats good, and is probably supplying enough fuel through the lines to start it up, however once the computer engages to manage fuel quantity something is going wrong... I would bring it back, but if not I would ask what they did as far as fuel regulator, and also, make sure those ppl put the wires back in the proper locations.
