95 5.0 transmission swap

I am considering swapping my automatic transmission and put a manual transmission in my f150. I have had a few minor problems over the years with this transmission but nothing I had to take to the repair shop.
I think it is a 4R70W and it is starting to slip a little. If it ends up going out, I want to put a manual transmission in its place.

I know I will have to find a donor truck for the clutch pedal and cylinder and other stuff besides a transmission. Might even have to get a different driveshaft.
Has anyone done this here?

Yes, it is pretty straight forward if you have a donor truck to steal all your needed parts.

What is the TRANS code on the door jam sticker?

Yup.

So next question is do you want the M5OD-R2 out of a half ton or spend a lot more for a ZF from a 351 F-2/350 truck?

Also need to narrow your search to 4x4 or 4x2 on a donor truck.

If both transmissions will bolt up to my 5.0 then I can start the search for a donor. Thanks for the insight

Maybe you could get with this guy - he wants to pull his manual and replace it with an auto:
