vibration

1996 ford f150... 2wd...has bad vibration around 60-65 is where u feel it the worst. pinion bearings were out of rear end completely rebuilt no axle bearings looked bad. have new u joints installed in driveshaft and was balanced. still have vibration. feels like coming towards rear of vehicle. output shaft on rear of trany has some up and down movement. dont know if it would be enough to cause issue. any suggestions??

Tires checked for out of round and properly balanced, wheels checked to make sure they aren't bent?

How are you inspecting for out of round, and how are you balancing them?

If any of the wheels need more than an ounce or two of weight, break the bead and turn the "light" side of the tire to where the valve stem is, then rebalance.

By "normal" balancer you DO mean a spin balancer, not a static bubble balancer, right?

I would sooner think the drive shaft or wheels were out (or improperly) balanced than the wheels are out of round...the vibration occurs at a predictable and consistent velocity.

Were the wheels out of round it would be present at any speed and detectable at certain velocity becoming more pronounced as speed increases. I'd take a look at all of it again. Also brake drums but these should act a bit like the wheel out of round.

Let us know if/when you get it fixed, having a similar issue with my 2011 after tire replacement. Had an Rf Balance done, checked u-joints and front end alignment. I found a weird spot on one of the tires, that appears to be flat when spinning wheel/tire on the truck. I need to stop by tire shop and have it checked out
I also plan to replace rotors and pads this week.
