Been busy workin on the truck, end result!

Well, I went pretty crazy this past year and did a solid axle swap, among other things, and figured i'd share with ya'll and see how my fellow Ford enthusiasts think I did. It still seems surreal to me right now, I bought this truck with the intentions of giving it a complete makeover and doing a frame off resto on it. Well, my part is done, here in the next couple months, it'll be heading off to a good friend of mine's shop to get completely re-painted and i'll be dragging the frame back home to do my part. Well, on with the pics!

Axle swap!

Then, after finally replacing that broken header panel I had, I decided to do a little more with the front end and this was how it came out and made it's maiden voyage with all new stuff!

Now, this is the complete transformation over the last 13 months. The top pic was the week I brought it home, the bottom pic was 3 days ago, after getting the new wheels put on. Then the way it sits now!

Thanks for looking guys! Been a long road with it already, and i'm not done yet! Time to get back to life and make some more money, I already have my plans for next year set in stone!

Looks great.
Good job on getting rid of that TTB.

It looks to me like you used a high pinion Dana 44 as the replacement.
Is that from a 78-79 F150?

Looks good! I followed your initial thread too. Wonder how many times over you've spent on restoring/modding from the initial purchase price! Picked a great looking truck to do it with though

LOL! Uh, it's well past initial purchase price hahahahaha! But I love this truck, and the more I tore into it, the more I wanted to bring it back to life! Next up, she's off to the body shop, and I originally planned on doing a turbo small block in it, but have decided since to just go with the big 460 big block swap/c6 auto trans swap. Thanks man! I put a lot of work into her, and yours doesn't look to shabby either!

Yes, dana 44 high pinion from a 79 f150, only thing remaining from the ttb axle is the brake lines hahaha! Thanks, I really appreciate the comments, and I couldn't take that ttb anymore!

Nice drive-train choice! The 95-97 F150 to 350s still look absolutely awesome to me when they've been taking care of. Yours is already better-than-new and it ain't done gettin purdied up! That's going to be one CLEAN rig when you're done with it. I'd be proud to drive it. Thanks for the compliment!

Yea, I agree. I break my neck when I see one driving down the road. There's still some out there that are rust free, getting way harder to find though, at least in the rust belt anyway. I appreciate it man! It should be a bad **** once that big boy is sittin down in there and I get a little more lift and tire on it! Do you have a build thread goin? I love your truck, and would love to follow it!

Same here! But just about anything loud and/or lifted will grab my attention. Our trucks stay in pretty good shape down here in TX, but finding a truck of that age that's been well taken care of is getting difficult too. The little link below my signature picture is a build thread of sorts if you wanna check that out! Much appreciated, and I can't wait to see how yours ends up over the months

Progress update!!

Well, just a quick update for those following my build on here. I finally got the upper and lower steering column bearings changed out, and got it all cleaned up and got the windows tinted. Drove like a dream, and you can actually "feel" the road again through the steering wheel. I'll be moving on to getting the 460 down in there in the next month or so, and i'll be going with about 3 more inches of lift and stepping up to 35's. I'll be pulling the bed and cab off while i'm doing that and sealing the frame up and a couple other things! Stay tuned!!!!!!

Here's a couple pics of it after the column bearing install, and freshly tinted windows!!!
