so I put a reman long block in my truck and now with the new engine it will be running fine and then before I get to temp it will shut off coming up to a red light, then afterwards it wont idle for anything it will run at higher rpm but miss and try to die. it has a 850cfm edelbrock on it now which I will be replacing with a 625 cfm street demon as soon as summit delivers it. I believe that this is most likely a carb issue maybe trash in it somewhere but I also think timing or the vacuum advance distributor could have something to do with it. any suggestions? I have my timing set at 10btdc.

 

More details on the truck would be nice. 850 seems like it would be too big of a carb without knowing much about the build.

It's a stock 351w in a 85f150 i just replaced the carb with a 625 Cfm street demon an it fixed the issue thanks for posting though
