95 custom bumper
95 custom bumper
About three weeks ago my brother and I set out on our first fabrication collaboration. I'm mainly into design and he's my welder and my "no, that's stupid. We are NOT doing that."-guy. It was bumper making time and I choose 3/16" which I picked up a virgin 4'x8' piece for $150. Brother wanted one too but didn't have the money so since I wasn't pressed for cash I spotted him. (now he has me buying a 9,000lb winch off him for $300 meaning I owe him $150
)
I fell in love with the LEDs across the Raptor's bumper so that been my focus this entire time. I'm even thinking about modding a raptor grille to fit my 95. Don't tell me it can't be done. It would just be very time consuming. And I have plenty of time. Napa auto parts here in California has quarter sized amber LEDs for 8 bucks a pop with the mounting rubber gasket that fits up to 5/16"
We are also doing clevis mounts or as my brother continues to call them, D-rings. If you google D-rings you'll be presented with binder supplies. I'm talking literal, hold-your-papers-together binders.
Yeah it's a long post but I'm a girl and we LOVE to talk. At least I'm talking about trucks and not shoes or gossip.
This is what we have so far. Remember it's built from the bottom up. We didn't build of of an existing frame or mount. So If you see an imperfection, that's just the Foster side coming out... Not the 30 pack of Coors Light.

Nice, that is exactly what I'd want for my '94. 12k or 15k winch though.
I'll disagree on your term specification though. From our aircraft's -9 loading flight manual...
A few of these have "fallen off a truck" and will go to my bumper build. Called a ring and shaped like a D.

2-125. (Figure 2-43). A total of 295 tiedown rings are installed in the cargo compartment floor and ramp. Each of the tiedowns consists of a forked fitting, bolted directly to the underfloor bulkhead structure, and a ring which is attached to the fitting by pins. The tiedown rings are capable of withstanding a 25,000 pound rated strength within the hemisphere above the cargo floor.
