Tranny oil overfill/dipstick questions

Had a shop replace my AOD wth another AOD. Lot of fluid leaking under the truck. Checked trans oil level this evening and it appears to be very overfilled. I know they had an issue with the dipstick tube sealing but how can I be sure the correct dipstick and tube are installed? Assuming the correct parts were installed, is a pump the best way to get the excess oil out? Fluid looks and smells brand new still. It's just aking a mess in the driveway and I don't want to risk blowing seals or foaming the fluid.
Thanks for the input.

If I'm not gonna drop the pan and change the filter, but just want to change the fluid, I undo both cooler lines up front from the radiator, put some rubber hose to 'em into a bucket, then idle the truck and let the trans do the work.

I suppose there is no way to know for sure on the dipstick accuracy unless you completely drain the case/pan/valve body/TC and refill from the start.
