maintenance

im planning on doing some maintenance work on my F150 but have a few questions about some stuff:

i want to rebuild the C6 trans since it doesn't shift forward when cold (i've been told its a leak gasket inside) where can i find a manual for doing this end are there gear sets for changing the ratio? to make the truck run less rpm at the final gear.

i want to change te bearings and gaskets of the differential, anyone have experience with how long this takes?

i will fit a 2.5 inch lift kit since i have to change the front coils anyway should i replace the leave spring bushings?

for the last ting the tires lean in like this /-\, i have a none adjustable type coudl this be caused by the coils being bad? or to shorT?

i have a 2G alt wich i would like to replace with a 3G because i want to add lights to the truck and with the fog lamps ( 2x50W) the charge level goes way down.

how is the front window (windshield) mounted, its leaking, and the trim? trim is loose on mine and don't see anything that is holding it

There is a good thread for rebuilding a C6, which is about the best thing to learn to take apart with, over on fourdoorbronco.com

Failure to shift appropriately with a C6 could be the failure of the vacuum modulator on the passenger side of the case and/or the vacuum line runnin' down from the manifold. An E4OD first gear set is a popular swap to give a better off the line first, but third gear is 1 to 1 and you would need to either swap to an OD tranny or big money for an overdrive unit.

Gonna need a 4x2 unit from a 300/302/351W truck. You have a million donor choices out there, and I think I have two in my hoard of trannys.

well
from my experience with rockauto where i get the most parts, FEDEX is the best, but prices depends on weight and dimension.

Also on you wheels leaning in you either have warn out upper and probably lower ball joints or if you all ready have a lift you need camber adjusters, this will fix the tire camber, one more thing on my 93 4x4 with coils and 3" lift I put a front sway bar on from a salvage yard it and the camber adjusters strightened my tires right up and drives 100% better..hope this helps
