ford 4.9 no start

ford 4.9 no start

hey guys just wondering if any of you could help,i have a 96 f 150 4.9 that wont start it has no spark . it has a new crank sensor, new coil, and a new icm. the truck was starting some times now not at all also the check engine light does not go out when your cranking it. some one said that was from a bad crank sensor but the sensor is new so im realy at a lose here........ also no spark at the coil .

Have you checked the OBD2 for codes?

The "crank sensor" to which you are referring, is that the sensor on the damper pulley or the PIP sensor in the distributor?

The sensor on the damper pulley is merely a misfire sensor. It triggers a code when a power pulse occurs too far out of the expected range. It has absolutely nothing to do with operating the ignition. That is done by the PIP (Profile Ignition Pickup) Sensor which is inside the distributor.

i have not checked it for codes and im refuring to the one on the dampined pully >

That sensor is NOT the crank position sensor on a 96 4.9.
The crank position on your engine is sensed by the PIP sensor in the distributor.

Get a hold of a scanner and pull the codes.
Then you'll know instead of guessing
