HELP: abs and brake light on??
Hi everyone, I have a 1996 Eddie Bauer F150 5.0L 5-Speed. The abs and the brake light just started coming on. Sometimes the brake light will go off leaving just the abs light on. Other times they both stay on, and sometimes they both come on and then eventually both turn off. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it ? Thank you!

I just had a similiar issue, like laneman said, check the brake fluid first.
Mine ended up being the switch itself, that attaches to the brake pedal. Somehow, the wires were being tugged when you depressed the brake pedal, and caused the abs light to come on, and the tail lights would stay on. I'm pretty sure the alignment shop caused this, all I did was cut the tie, gave it a little more slack, and tied in a different spot. Don't know if this helps, but if the fluid is fine, this could put you in a different direction.
