1995 f150 possible sensor problem

Hi
Just joined your nice forum...I have a 1995 f 150 4x4 with the 302 motor
If I go and start the truck for the first time it starts fine and will take me where I need to go but when I shut it off and try to start it up it starts and then it starts to pulse from 2-300 rpm to 1000rpm and it will usually stall...if I keep the rpm up for a few minutes and start driving it is ok and is able to idle at aprox 8-900 rpm.but if I shut it off and try to start it up again it does the eratic rpm and stalls ..What I am hoping is that one of you ford guys will recognize my symptoms and be able to tell me what is bad or to start to narrow it down...my friend says it could be one of several sensors...TPS,EGR ,or an o2 sensor..thanks for your help Pat
PS:I am resisting the urge to start replacing parts till I get it but that can cost big ..might be best to put it on the computer at the repair shop and see what it comes up with...the check engine light has come on and off a few times ..right now it is off.

I talked to a friend and he is a mechanic and he told that it was most likely the IAC ..so I replaced it and it seems so far to have fixed it...will see how long it will last

No need for a fancy computer on these OBD1 trucks.

Read here how to...
