white smoke: looking at buying a 93 f-150

I'll try to keep this short..

I'm looking at buying a 1993 f-150 with a 5.0L, it has 125,000 miles.. the motor was rebuilt at 98,000 miles.. the truck has been sitting in a pole building for a couple years.

When the seller first started the truck up it was blowing white smoke out the tail pipes, but after maybe a couple minutes it stop blowing smoke. I couldn't smell coolant or oil, but it did smell like something was burning. Now this truck has been sitting for a while and it had corn and mouse crap in the exhaust. The truck also had water coming out of the exhaust but it didn't smell like coolant. It was also in the 70s yesterday when I looked at it so it wasn't cold out.

Is this thing a possible pos or is it because maybe it was sitting? it a nice looking truck for its age and was takin care for with everything else.

thanks.

Could white smoke possiibly be caused by the rings not sealing due to an improper break in of the rebuilt motor? Valve seals? Just trying to get some ideas flowing. Why was the engine rebuilt so early?
