Added Sway/Stabilizer Bars to my 93 Flare Side
I brought the handling of my rig way up from the lumbering beast it was. I run 31X10.5's, 2" lift up front to level it, and a blown 351 with around 400 horses. I felt the need to tame the beast around the corners. There is a night and day difference in handling!
I found a 93 at the local pic-n-pull that had the 7/8" bars and brackets for $85. The front includes a skid plate and I took the lower coil mounts which also are the lower sway bar mounts. I cleaned them up, painted them, rebuilt, and installed them. Everything bolted-up but withthe 2" lift in front the dog bones were contacting the coil buckets. The solution was to drill and move the top mount further up, away from the lower mounts. I knew the old rubber bushings were worn and rubber is softer than urethane. I recently rebuilt them with stiffer urethane bushings and that made a noticeable difference, The new stiffer urethane tightened it up more around the corners. I would suggest adding them to anyone who has no or minimal lift, if you are looking for better handling, though they will limit articulation and travel for the off road stuff.
First try before the 2" front lift and urethane bushings:

I don't think they will make much of a difference with stiff lift springs with 35's and larger tires...................They will limit flex for wheeling as well.
