how can i paint my rusty engine.

I want to paint my engine but it is rusty. Is there a way to remove the rust. I dont have a engine hoist so would it be possible to get everything painted with it in the vehicle. What would be the process of sanding etc to get it ready to be painted.

Naval Jelly will work. Brush it on and let it set. Hose off......Repeat as necessary.

PS..... Cover your outside paint.

don't let overspray hit the outside of the truck's paint^. Block the paint from going anywhere you don't want it to.

Naval Jelly is a Jelled acid to remove rust. Brush it on and let it set for 15 minutes, then hose it off. It may take a few applications. Cover the fenders and around the fender wells (inside, around the engine) so when you hose it down, the cleaner won't dull the finish.
