I did not knwo that the ac compressor should cycle when heat is turned on. I am trying to get the heat out of the vents. I have do the following

1. checked antifreeze and rad level
2. verified both heater hoses to heater core are hot
3. new water pump
4. exposed heater core and blend door, blend door works fine
5. fan works
only get cold air ??
Thanks

Hey r18951, what happens when you select other options on the climate control? Does the AC still stay on? Heat instead of AC? Peace, Dave.

The AC runs in all climate modes, accept off and vent position. From what I have learned, this correct. When the blend door is closed, i still do not seem to generate any heat through vents.

Add floor position and you are correct. Even with the heat on.
Works that way down to 24.8 degrees or -4 C
Below that, the compressor wont kick in, in any position.

Heyr 18951, your problem is still a lack of heat coming through the vents, correct? I'm gonna ask the obvious question, and you do have the heat bar all the way to the right, yes? Peace, Dave.

Check the actuator on the bottom of the heater box. So .. get down on the floor and look up behind where the glove box is. The actuator there should move when you switch to different modes.

Also, the temp select cable goes from the climate control over to the heater box. If you pull the glove box out and you move the selector you should see a valve moving on top of the box. This controls the air temp coming into the cabin.
