91 f150 ignition problem

i got a 1991 f150 from a guy down the road and ive had preblems with it staying running when im goin down the road. If i hit a bump it shuts off sometimes and if i turn the key forward it starts back up. also the other night the ignition actuator broke so i got a new one and in the process of putting everything back together i found that one of the parts where the key lock for the ignition goes into some type of a sleave was stripped of a few gears. i have no clue of what it could be and ive checked a few different auto parts stores and they have no clue either. if anyone could tell me what this part is i would be very grateful. Your truck problem sounds like it's all in the steering column. Study these & their captions:
