1984 f150 took quarter tank of gas for seven miles.

I have a 84 f150 that has a 87 4.9l motor In It that was converted to carb using the 84 parts, so I have a 87 motor, thats converted to carb In this truck. Its a manual. But whats wierd Is It takes gas like crazy. I had a half a tank, went about seven miles and Its down to a quarter tank. I would guess about fourty dollars of gas has been put Into this truck and Its been driven about thirty miles. I looked at the plugs and they are really old, like ten years old and kinda rusty so that might have something to do with It, but probably not the whole reason. The heat riser tube also has a small hole In It so Idk If that would cause this or what. Idk If this truck has a o2 sensor or whats wrong with It. Any suggestions.

You cannot be burning that much. You must have a leak somewhere

Dual tank? I bet it is pushing fuel into the other tank via the return line.

Is this the same truck that you put Seafoam in the oil?

Either that or the sending unit is junk. I had a truck that once it got just below 1/2 tank it would drop to empty.

Have you thought about fixing what you just said is broken/has leaks? Start with the known issues first and see how it works?
