My driver's side mirror moves everytime i close the door. I've looked to see if there is a way to tighten it but it seems it's loose at the ball joint at the bottom of the mirror. Is there a way to repair this or do i just get a new one?
I have the same problem on my 1991 F-150. The OEM mirror on the drivers door got loose. I bought a new one from Auto Zone or one of those places. It worked fine for about 5 years, now it is loose. I adjusted it and put a bunch of that 5 minute epoxy glue around the ball joint to hold it. That worked for a while now it is loose. I've given up and have run all out of ideas. I'm tired of buying mirrors, and even more tired of fixing it, so now I'm just living with it.
My Father has a 1993 f150 and starting having the same issues with the loose mirros. I tried looking everywhere for a quality replacement but only found the plastic junk ones that had no option to tighten once the ball starts to wear out. Below is the solution I had, the mirrors are plastic still which when ordered thought they were metal due to misleading description. But the main thing is they have the three screws that you can tighten the swivel up later on. So we're gonna run these and if they wear out I'll try and find a metal replacement.
what does that have to do with a decade old post about 10th gens???
Unless I read this post wrong it was one of the only threads I could find talking about something close to the same issue I had. And pre the comments of others in this thread and research I tired doing I could not find a bolt on replacement that was a good solution. I know it was an old thread I just thought I'd share my idea incase someone else was dealing with the same issue. And we still use the truck today so I thought others might be as well. But if I have posted this in the wrong area or something my apologies.
