No. The T-19 was available even in Bronco's and F-150s until '93. But for 88 and '89 I've only found it behind the diesels.

Simply need the door jam sticker trans code. VIN not needed.

Like mine is 0074 or something like that since it was the 74's off the line.
I'm just thinking maybe it was a very early "88" build and got a t19 over an m5 for whatever reason.
The door tag unfortunately is loooooong gone. I'll get you a few numbers from the vin... I tend to agree with you because I think I read somewhere in my travels/research that it was a very early 88...

Sigh. I'm so very tempted to say screw this junky m5 and get me a t19
But the jy one could be just as bad as my m5.
Wonder if they use the same clutch?

BTW,, I would like anyones advice on this slave cyl. Something doesn't seem right about it, all that holds it here is the pressure againt the clutch fork. Seems there should be some kind of retainer?

Plus it will get a dollup of grease at the cup....

You're right Stranger and Adrianspeeder, I stand corrected, thanks for helping me to clear this up. Guess I couldn't see the forest for the trees. I saw the motive page and the Novak page and the stamped number on the case but didn't read good and put the pieces together.

I also have the ID tag on which the number "E8T3-ASA" From the Novak Adapter site: E= 80 and 8= 8th year, so 88 production

If you can locate the production ID tag on your Ford T18 top cover, you will find a lettering code akin to “D7T3...”. This may help identify the year of transmission, as Ford uses the first letter to designate the decade (C=’60s, D=’70s, etc.) and the year is called out by the second digit.

Also:

The Ford and some Jeep T18s enjoys a very low compound gear at 6.32:1 and as such it is a popular choice for those wanting a very low crawling gear.

This is even better news.

Any ideas about the slave cylinder and mount?

No worries, I've just been researching these trucks quite a while.

Although found a new oddball truck yesterday my friend bought that is an '88 F-250 with a factory 302 and AOD. Never saw one before, just M5OD's behind the 302 in the 250 flavor.

Slave looks good to me, but all my 4 speed rigs are mechanical clutches. Ain't like it'll fall out unless you lose hydraulic pressure. Then yer screwed anyway.

Yessir!!! You are correct. Anyway, I went to the junkyard yesterday and the guy gave it to me. Its a C shaped half inch thick semi-flexible plastic piece that clips onto the slave.
