Front end conversions???

I have an 87 f150 and have been contemplating for a long time as to weather I want to attempt a front end conversion of some sort. I really like the slightly newer front end of the 92-96 f150, I think my 87 front end is fugly lol.

Just putting a feeler out there to see weather it would be worth the trouble, and If anyone has done this, would they be able to offer any info about it. I have an infinite supply of 92-up f150 at the local pull a part, so part would be fairly easy to come by, and pretty cheap.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The hardest part will be mounting the bumper solidly since your frame horns are different, but the rest is a bolt-on. You'll need EVERY piece of sheet metal forward of the windshield, including the core support.

. . . . .

Thanks for the info guys, that link was really helpful. I'll make the bumper happen, that's not a big deal for me, since I do body work for a living. Hopefully I'll be able to start buying pieces here in a few weeks. I'll make a thread of my process whenever I get started.

Another question also, I noticed that the guy that made that writeup also replaced his doors. Would I have to swap my doors out as well?

Not unless you want to change the mirrors.

Rad saddle is the hardest piece to find used in good shape. They all like to rust out around the mounts. Once you have that though, it's pretty simple.
I'd suggest taking a mini grinder (cordless for the u-pull I guess, so lots of spare batteries) and cutting the bumper mounts off a donor - that would make the bumper mounting much simpler.
