New member here, I just acquired a 1988 F-250 XLT Lariat 5.9L EFI. It was used primarily as a farm vehicle and hunting truck, so although it was fairly well maintained, it need a little work.
First task is the brakes. It sat most of last year and when the previous owner started it up, the pedal went to the floor. Seems to have some rear brakes but no front.
After that it's off to the salvage yard to try to find a new tailgate. The existing one was damaged by backing into a pole with the tailgate down, so the handle is destroyed and it won't latch.
After that, it's mostly cosmetic stuff - should be a fun project truck for me and my son.
