How much - '85 F150 4x4 351HO
Hey guys. I'm currently living in the city but I'm about to build a house and move back out to the country. I was thinking of getting rid of my current truck in place of a car and then getting a project truck for hunting, chores four-wheeling, etc.
My buddy has had his grandpa's 1985 F150 4x4 351HO in his garage for the last two years. He drives it a few times a month and it runs like a top. It does have some body issues but the A/C and all the mechanicals work.
So one of my questions is, what is this truck worth with only 50k miles on it? His grandpa bought the truck new so it is essentially a one owner (family) truck with low miles.
I checked the NADA site but trucks of this vintage don't have very accurate values. Would any of you guys have a ballpark price that you'd be willing to pay? I'm pretty sure he would take $3k but I have no idea if that's a decent price or not. I'm assuming I should also take it to a Ford dealer and have them inspect for any hidden issues.
I plan on fixing the body work, painting and putting on a modest lift with new wheels and tires.
