Starter or cellenoid going bad?

I've got a 1987 F150 6 cyl. with 67000 original miles. Sometimes when starting, all I hear is one click when I turn the key. Turning the key back then forward again, the truck starts right up. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thats what is sounds like. You should know in a couple days because once the starter starts to go bad it usually doesn't take long. I have replaced many starters in the parking lots of grocery stores!

My 92 did the same thing. It was the solenoid. They're a LOT cheaper than a starter. Try that first.
