I am not really sure whats wrong with my transmission its a 90 model E4OD and it doesnt go in third gear just straight to fourth. i let a family member borrow it one day and supposedly they turned right and it just died.. i went to check it out and it had no fire and no power to the fuel pump replaced the ecm and the fuel pump relay and this other relay that controls fire and then i found out it wouldnt go into 3rd gear anymore have no idea what it could be..
If i cant figure out whats wrong with it soon i guess imma just convert to a 5 speed and get rid of all the electronic crap.. thanks for any help.

No, there is no "overdrive relay". So it shifted oddly before changing the ECM?

Did you use a replacement ECM from a 1990 truck with an E4OD? They are not necessarily interchangeable?

Is the OD light blinking? That is the transmission MIL.

 

well i relaced the ignition control module and i have the original computer.. and the only reason i said the overdrive relay was cause i was lookin up parts for that trans and it listed a overdrive relay.... and i mean it doesnt just blink but if i push the button it goes in and out like it did when it worked but third doesnt engage
