On the drivers side of the engine bay are the wire harnesses for everything. I know which ones run the engine that's not a problem. But the other harnesses, I imagine, run all of the other systems and the connectors are color coded. Can someone explain the color code for those harnesses? there is one that is white that comes from the main harness that doesn't plug into anything and is capped off. I'm assuming its for an auto trans. Idk. I'll post a pic ASAP.

Yeah I have a chiltons. But its a pita to understand wiring diagrams. I'm a machinists not an electrician! plus it doesn't refer to the color code.

It should refer to the colors of the wires at least. I'd go out and look at mine, but oh yea. Mine's not electronically controlled. I hate my AOD.

Well I'm talking about the blue truck. I'm willing to bet that you have the same white connector I do. Manual/ aod not being electronic. I wonder if yours is plugged in?

Ok the top pic I'm assuming is for brakes/ rabs, fuel, lights, vss, and trans. The bottom pic is for engine management. It's kinda funny though, you have the 302 as I do in the red truck and you only have four connectors for the engine and I have eight. I will have to do some research as to what the connector colors mean if anything and why I have eight connectors for the engine. Weird.

If necessary I can run up to my truck and look, after class of course. Unless it is something for 4x4, out trucks would be identical.

Ok I just took a look at my red truck. Where the four engine management connectors are I also have four of the accessory connectors on top of them instead of being to the right like yours (booba). There is my mistake. Now if I can figure out which of the accessory connectors are what and see what the difference is between the two trucks and see what I need out of the red one. I doubt there's much difference but I want to make sure. so I'm gonna pull out the chiltons and see if I can make some sense out of it.

UPDATE:

The engine and trans is out. Now I'm pulling all of the little things like the harness, shift linkage and whatnot and cleaning stuff off. There is a lot of tornado slime all over the place.

Yeah it did. Just that I'm busy elsewhere. I really don't know what a day off is. Plus the guy that is helping for the 4.9 has been busy too. He won't be back till after Thanksgiving. so ill use the next couple of weeks to get the little stuff out and clean them up.

Update: I've managed to get a few more things out of the red truck despite my schedule and weather. Ive pulled the ecu, steering coulmn, shocks, and gauge cluster. I have also had to do some work to the blue truck to keep her going like the oil pan gasket, brakes, and i went ahead and swapped seats. The old one was broken down and was getting painfull to sit in. I have also been shopping around for a cheap vehicle to get me by during all of this and happened to come by this

ill be picking it up tuesday. The thing runs great, no rust, 22RE 4 banger, 5 speed. These 4 runners are a rarity around here. Stay tuned!
