95 f150 vibrating when accelerating

Recently my 95 f150 began vibrating when i accelerate. The steering wheel vibrates the most, but it's kind of all over. When i coast, or remain at a constant speed, the vibration stops. Also, i put it in neutral and stepped on the gas and there was no vibration. So it's only when I'm actually going down the road. I've been told that it could be the motor mounts, or u joints possibly. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

You sure it's not a misfire?

Easiest thing to check would be the u-joints.

I have the same problem with my 95 f150 with the 5.8L it will vibrate a lot but only at certain speeds and in between those speeds its fine so basically its the same as sjwest21 when im at a constant speed it will shake but when i let off the gas or apply gas it will vibrate a ton.
Any body have any insight to what the problem might be?

I know its not the tires just did all the maintnence on em yesterday i dont think it would be any of the others you listed the truck just came out of an 8 year hibernation and only has 97,000km(60,000m) on it. is their anything mechanically in the engine transmission ect that could cause this? edit: new tires where put on right before it was parked they have about 15,000 miles on them.

yea its an auto and the truck seems to be carboned up pretty bad smoking a lot and theres a ticking coming from the engine that has gotten quieter over time its on the intake side because the exhaust sounds normal. i think theirs a couple misfires to, just tryin to fix one problem at a time.

Yea i put new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, fresh oil, new oil filter and a fairly new air filter. Im going to look into taking it to a shop in the next little while i just wanted to see if i could fix the problem myself or at least fix somethings before it goes in. The transmission is either the aod or the e40d its got 1,2,drive and overdrive ill find out the exact when i talk to my dad later he knows most about it.

Sounds like either a power load or decel load. U-Joints or gears

Im not saying tires are your problem but as something to note. Tires don't just go bad with miles, they go bad with age as well. The truck sat for 8 years and have 15k on em. That's about a years worth of miles. So it probably safe to say they are at least 9 years old. Check the tread for any lumps or creases in the side wall and have them balanced.
