well what motor u got?
make sure both mating surfaces are clean so u dont have any leaks
also it makes it easyer to remove the cluutch fan and fan shroud b4 workin on the pump.
dont puncture ur radiator
but its pretty strait forward and easy but if u dont clean ur mating surfaces ull just cause problems for ur self

Put your truck's details in a signature so you don't have to remember next time.
Break the fan clutch nut off the water pump pulley FIRST. If you can't break it (and it's a Roy L. Pita), there's no reason to do anything else. Hold the pulley & turn the nut the SAME direction the fan normally spins. There are special tools available, but I made my own:
Don't lay the fan clutch flat - keep it vertical at all times.
Don't buy premix (50/50) or long-life coolant. Buy normal concentrated antifreeze & distilled water.
