My 92 F-150 seems to run at a pretty low oil pressure. It has the 351 in it and the gauge hangs out around the N in nornal. Is that okay?

if your worried about it get a oil pressure gauge that mesures in psi not normal and i believe you should be at 40psi at idle i could be wrong but im prettysure its 40psi.

gauges are cheap you can get them at any autparts store easy to install and cheap insurance insteat of electrical that can short out youll have a mechanical hookup

I doubt that you will have 40 psi at a warm idle on an old 4.9 - I'd be happy with 15, and 40 at cruising speed.

Okay - then 20 at idle and 50 to 60 cruising.

The gauge on a 1992 is not really a gauge, it's an idiot light with a needle. The sender is a 6 psi switch, anything over 6 psi and the gauge goes to the same spot. You can get a actual sender off of a pre-87 351(along with the elbow) then jumper(bypass) a resistor on the back of the gauges, which will make the gauge actually work. The most accurate route is to get a mechanical gauge though. Credit to Steve83 of course:
