Cracking Frame....
Cracking Frame....
I have a 95 f150 and im having a problem with my frame cracking at the steering box i just thought it was due to tremdous stress caused by my 11" lift and 39.5" IROKS...... but when workin on a friends 95 f150 the other day i noticed his frame is cracked in the same exact spot... is this a problem with them i thought it was common in chevys not fords ....any Input is appreciated
on my 88 i pulled the box and took 1/4 in steal and re boxed the frame and got longer bolts but you should clean all rust and spray with weld thru primer if u do the same
i welded my crack then ground it smooth used weld thru primer reboxed the fram and when it cooled i painted it and bolted my box up.
but i was only runnin 32 12.50s but with 1/4 should be strong enough
i only used 3/16in metal to rebuild the frame rails of my 86 cutlass

yea this is my second time fixing the crack because it cracked beside and not cracking up the bottom of the frame on the seam towards the frame horn......this time im gonne plate it and use square tube across the front behind the bumper to act as a cross member to stop the flexing
