sensor location?

Please help I have a 93 f150 with a 4.9 and I am putting in a set of gauges but trying to figure out the correct sensor locations. i need to know where the oil, water sensors are, i tried my hanes manual but to vague-if I am right the oil one is above the oil dipstick where it goes in the block the water one is confusing if i am right it is up top by water neck-look at pix but no way to use if i want to keep factory and new gauge

The water temp sensor in the TStat housing is not for the gauge it is for the processor. Do NOT use it. The one you want is in the water jacket on the block on the lower right side of the engine. The oil pressure sensor is on the left side near the filter

You have to be a bit of a contortionist. It is just below #6 exhaust. It uses a single wire with a barrel connector pushed onto a post.

You don't need to find the senders. All their wires are in the dash at the instrument cluster. Mechanical gauges are no more precise than the stock electric ones, but they do introduce the possibility of leaks into the cab. If you have problems with the stock gauges, it's cheaper, easier, quicker, & more reliable to just fix them. If you want to add a stock tachometer, that's easy too - just swap the instrument cluster from any '92-93 F-series (gasoline) or Bronco. For more info, read these captions:

If you're determined to change the senders, read this:
