Exclamation 1998 ford f150 no fuel to fuel pumps(PLEASE HELP)

Ok, I grounded the fuel pump relay to the return signal ground on the dlc. pumps running when grounded, disconnected the fuel line from outlet on filter and gas spewed everywhere. still no fuel to throttle body. pumps will not run unless bypassed on the dlc. truck has a internal voltage regulator on the alternator, had it checked and is fine. new ignition control module. i'm lost and need a lot of help. Pleas HELP.

Anytime would be a good time to get a fuel pressure gauge.

Good. Fuel should never go to the TB in a Ford truck. They use MFI exclusively.

I will get one. I have a question though and only because I dont know the answer. How does the fuel pressure play a role in the fuel pumps not having any power unless bypassed at the dlc? Althogh I havent checked the power at the pumps with a meter, i do know that they are not running unless bypassed at the dlc.

Yes, the PIP output is what tells the EEC to turn on the FP relay. If the dist is unplugged, the signal will never make it to the EEC.

PIP?? where would the distributor be unplugged? the only wires I saw was to the module on the disributor that I replaced. the inline high pressure pump shows both electric legs grounded. When the dlc is jumped and the pumps are on the fuel injectors are not opening. I'm lost

Sorry for the frustration but just a little confused. The pip is a pick up sensor in the distributor, correct? how do i test it without replacing the distributor? PLEASE PLEASE help. This is just greek to me in a lot of cases. The mechanical functions are no problem to me but the electrical is a problem.

I gave up and carried it to a mechanic. It was the TPS. Thanks for all the help. One other question though. Can you clean the EGR valve or do you have to replace it?
