well the truck is now mine..i drove home yesterday and it done fine no problems even fixed the wipers on it..today started it and it idled fine and i drove it a lil bit then one time got on it and it died..started right back up no problem but it wont idle..it will start and run as long as you give it gas but once you let off the gas it dies..remember its not efi its carb with an edelbrock intake and carb..what could it be..i need help asap cause this is my only vehicle and i need it to get back and forth to college and work

It hard to diagnose the problem when it's no longer the way the factory built it. My advice would be to go to the better, more efficient EFI setup, but you probably don't want to hear that.
