Can it handle a ton of pellets?

Hi,

Anyone know if my 1990 F150 supercab can handle a ton of pellets?

It shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you have plenty of air pressure in your rear tires. Even car type tires in good shape will handle a ton payload. I assume you don't have any broken leafs in your rear springs. How long a distance will you be hauling the pellets?

Nope leafs are good, just replaced one of the brackets, also has new rear shocks. About a 40mile hike.

You will be overloaded. Look at the weight rating on your vehicle ID tag.

No, it can't handle it. Make at LEAST 2 trips. The owner's manual explains how to calculate the truck's cargo capacity.

If you do it, expect to replace wheel bearings, axle shafts, tires, springs, & maybe a lot more. If you have a wreck, you'll probably get a criminal charge, and your insurance may drop you.

It's just not worth the risk to save a couple of hours & a few gallons of gas.
