F1FIDDYTony - Very nice work!!!! Love those seats! I can't wait to see it completed!

booba5185 -- I just bought a '93 single cab, and the first thing I noticed was the whine from the power steering!
What year E van ps pump would work for my truck? Can I go up to a '96? And with the bracket from the van, will it bolt right up with know mods?
Thanks

1993 F150 4x2 5.0

Here's the most info I could find, it's a pretty straight forward swap on 5.0\5.8s, but I'm doubt it would work on a 300. I could be wrong, but the mount comes from the v8 van, no a i6 van.

Picked up some new wheels for the truck....16 x 8, have some decent tires on them, so I'll use them until the end of this month. Think I'll put 305/70/16 tires on them. That'll get me the 33" diameter I like, plus a little meat. Got the new bed up on sawhorses in the garage, gonna start bodywork on it after the weather breaks. It's just too cold to go out there and do much right now. Anyway, I think it looks fantastic with the new rims, it's coming along nicely.

What a great build out..... Like the black... Completely shocked that the seats look like they bolted right up.... Did they? I have an aftermarket set in mine but they are just about to need a trip to the trim shop to be rebuilt. The 16" tire is a step in the right direction IMHO. Thinking about going that route since I have 16" tires on the lifted Jeep my daughter drives. The bumper I miss on mine was the EB/F250 one I had which had the rub strip and the three holes in the front. Seemed to really help my truck run cooler in the hot Atlanta heat. Great job so far. Can't wait to see what is next.

Prerunner, I was fortunate enough when I found the seats that they had the factory brackets and sliders on them, so yes, they did bolt right up. I had to drill one hole on each side, as the truck previously had a bench seat in it. Just reinforced it with a threaded collar, and there it was. I'll clean up the install in the spring once I can pull the carpet up and put new down. Think I'm going to go ahead and wire up the power lumbar, and rewire the stereo system, thinking about putting an amp in, so I'll just hardwire everything and make it nice and clean. We'll see, depends on what else I run in to when I have a bare floor pan. I'm piling up on the parts, I'm excited to get them on there and finally get the truck painted. There are several of these old trucks running around the town where I live, and you can tell they are well taken care of. I'll be proud to pull up next to one of those guys, they are usually old farm guys that have had the trucks forever. I wish more people kept these things up and kept them on the road, they are beautiful, solid trucks.

Hey, just wanted to follow-up with the injectorsand P\S swap, I just completed both. Injectors made a HUGE difference (not 100% sure my old ones were good). There's more pickup, mostly in the bottom end, not sure on gas mileage difference yet. P\S pump also made a great difference, in the way a P\S pump could. The pump as WAY quieter and the steering wheel is easier to turn at a stand-still now. I didn't need the extra power from the pump, but my old one was leaking. The swap was only $30, not only an upgrade, but cheaper than a new pump.

It may be in this thread already but what did you use for the swap?
I'm only running 31's and from a stand still if i turn it will bog down the engine, with the soon to be 33's I could probably stall it out turning sitting still.

Injectors are a direct swap (assuming you have 19# injectors already). P\S is finding a e-series van with a serpentine 5.0 (I believe, it didn't look like a 5.8, I didn't look to hard though) at a JY, pulled the A\C compressor off (SAVE THESE BOLTS), then the 3 bolts (9\16) and one nut on the front (also 9\16)and the bracket comes off (our stock one wont mount this new pump). Other than that you will need the HP hose coming off of the pump and going to the steering box (5/8 line wrench). After you pull that off, pull the LP hose off (bring this with you if you want, but don't stress it, stock will work fine on this).

Once I got the pump, it was just a matter of cleaning it (the one from the JY was DIRTY), then it was a direct swap. I just bought a new belt about 2 months ago, and it is RIGHT before the "range" marker on the tensioner (too tight), so you may need a little bit looser belt. I haven't driven it around to see the difference, only seen the difference at a stand still (for about 5 seconds). All because I forgot those damn compressor bolts.

I just saw you have a i6, so I don't know if this will be a direct swap for you. We'll have to see if there's an i6 van, or maybe another mount\saginaw pump combination you can use. I know that for the older broncos you don't need a mount or HP line at all, you just buy a replacement pump (I think it's Advance\ZONE part number 20-2644 if my memory serves) and it bolts right in. I've got to finish my swap (3 more bolts on the A\C compressor bolts...might take awhile lol) and finish up my dad's car (praying it's only injecotr O-rings) today, other than that I can look into the whole i6 possibility later. That is, of course unless Steve chimes in, I remember seeing his name mentioning i6s in a thread about this swap. Only thing was he got the "yes, it can be done" answer, just not "Here's how..."
