engine and trans swap question

Hey guys, i have a 1989 ford f150 with a 300 inline 6 and im looking to put a 302 in it its a 5 speed and i would like to know if the trans will mount up to the 89 302 with no problems?

No worries, it's the exact same bolt pattern.
Be sure you use the 302 flywheel, they are not interchangeable
While you have it apart replace the slave cylinder.

The trans is the least of your worries. You need to concentrate on engine perches, radiator, exhaust, & wiring changes so the engine will fit.

Overall, it'll be cheaper, quicker, & better to just get a V8 truck, if that's what you want. I'd keep the 4.9L.

im gunna run a carb so no wiring needed, can i run stock 302 headers? is there room??? thanks

thanks for the info should i do the cluch when im in there??? not sure if it needs it tho
