That right stuff..stuff looks pretty nifty in the little caulking tubes, but I think I wills tick to the black RTV.

Not when it's used correctly. Obviously, a stamped sheet metal oil pan isn't strong enough to pry off, and stamped pans aren't made to seal directly - they're made to use gaskets. So use a gasket, and you won't need RS, and it'll cost less, and be removeable. But the front diff IS made to seal directly, and both the diff & the axle beam are obvously strong enough to break loose later.
