help blowing blue smoke (video)

Hello,
I have recently purchased a 1995 ford f250 with the 5.8 liter v8. It has now started to smoke pretty bad. it is all smoke with a blue tint to it. It did not do this when i bought the truck a bout a week ago as i can tell. I have tried to change the pcv valvle that seemed to help maybe alittle if any at all. I am confused as to why this is doing this all of what seems to be a sudden. some backround on the truck i know it recently had the heads replaced because when the previous owner was installing the headers he drilled into the head trying to repair a stud. could it be the valve guides seals rings on the pistons? or could it be just the oil burning off from the old pcv valve still i have run it and let it idle for at least an hour in combination with doing both. Please help i am lost and hoping i can fix it.

If the p/o did a valve job on a high milage motor then the new valves seal up good and cause gasses to blow by the rings. You can check it out with a wet/dry compression test.

If he didn't do a valve job then it could be a guide or seal. You can check that with a leak down test.

Usually if the guide/seal is bad it will smoke the most on start up.

Good luck.

Might want to do a compression test like I said earlier.

If you can still contact the previous owner and find out exactly what he did when it was torn down. Valve job/seals or not. That might help.

Might be able to get away with valve seals IDK. Compression numbers would tell you alot more. Also if you pull the spark plugs see if you have an oily build up on them, they should be a nice tan color. Black and oily indicates oil burner.

Make sure you have the proper oil and it's at the proper level. Over full or too thin could make it a smoker too.

Good luck.

well after looking at the engine visibly and getting an opinion of a mechanic we first noticed that the intake manifold is leaking and there is a puddle of coolant he also seems to think it may be coolant so we are starting there replacing all the gaskets and all necessary hardware we are going to have to replace i also took the plugs out and here is a picture of them. From the plugs any one know what is going on?http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...0923001433.jpg

Please take better pics of the plugs. We need to see each plug in a lot higher resolution and under direct light, not in shadows.
