1992 Flareside factory steps

Hello out there. Well, I just found my dream truck...the truck I always wanted in high school, it's a 92 F150 Flareside XLT 4x4. The old guy I bought it from bought it new 18 years ago, and to say he babied it is an understatement. Its got 143,000 Km (just under 90,000 miles for my american friends) and has what I believe is every factory option available that year. The only thing wrong is the same thing that goes wrong on every flareside where snow and salt are an issue, and that is the factory steps. The fibreglass steps are in great shape, but the bars that mount them to the truck are rotten. If anyone out there knows where I can find some replacements, I would love to know about it. I tried LMC, and a few other places with no luck...

I am going to try to get a few pictures posted ASAP.

AFAIK, they're not available anywhere but junkyards. If you know a commercial or industrial electrician, you might be able to get him to bend you some new frames from conduit.

Hazard Lights issue

Thanks, I am fabing some up with square tubing...since I don't have the abiltiy to bend it, I am going to frankenstein part of the old brackets into the new ones, and then undercoat the hell out of them. Got the A/C going, now the only problem I am having is the 4 way flashers./ All of the signal lights work, but when I turn on the 4-ways only the right front flashes...any suggestions?

Why? You know it's not gonna last. Just fab up entirely new brackets and be done with it.

1) That'll make it a nightmare to replace the next section that rusts out (if you don't go all-new), and 2) that'll probably just hold water inside the tubes & cause them to rust out faster (whether they're all-new or Frankenfabbed).

Bounce the hazard switch rapidly until you get tired. If that doesn't clean the contacts, test the MFS.
